Upcoming Book Tour - Mya Guarnieri Jaradat

Please join us on June 20, 7 pm, at Tabor Space, 5441 SE Belmont, to hear journalist Mya Guarnieri Jaradat talk about her new book, The Unchosen: The Lives of Israel's New Others

Described as "essential reading" by journalist and novelist Ben Ehrenreich, The Unchosen provides an in-depth look at the often racist and exploitative treatment of African asylum seekers and migrant workers in Israel.

Guarnieri Jaradat's pioneering reporting has appeared in The Nation and The Guardian.  Her book calls into question Israel's claim that its mistreatment of Palestinians is based on "security concerns."

Admission is free but donations are welcomed.

Co-sponsored with Americans United for Palestinian Human Rights, Friends of Sabeel North America, East Timor Action Network, KBOO Community Radio, Portland Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines, Portland Rapid Response Network, and Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights.
